The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun

  • AAA & Five Diamond Resort

Cancun,  Mexico - Not All Inclusive
Here, you can explore an underwater world, marvel at the ancient treasures of the nearby Mayan ruins and choose from two Five Diamond restaurants. Resting on the tip  of the exotic Yucatan peninsula is The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, an exclusive AAA Five Diamond resort considered one of the most luxurious in the world. An enticing stretch of white sand beach, indulgent amenities such as the full-service Kayantá Spa and award winning restaurants, and the intrigue of the ancient Mayan sites come together to create an irresistible oasis of enchantment.

An elegant ambience of Italian marble, brocade upholstery, gilt-frame paintings, tapestries, and antiques; exceptional dining, and discreet, personalized hospitality satisfy discriminating guests. An atrium garden featuring a sea-green Mayan-style sculpture and a stained-glass ceiling contributes a tropical note.

A beach-view terrace contains the main pool that floats like a freeform lagoon above the beach, a quiet pool, and a 16-person spa tub. Wood-floor thatch-roof structures furnished with cushioned lounge chairs accommodate from 4-8 guests, with thatched palapas, and two-person lounge chairs with fold-up shades. A  terra-cotta-colored terrace overlooking the beach and extending the full length between the hotel's outer wings includes a two-level main pool floating like a freeform lagoon above the turquoise Caribbean Sea. A blossom-shape "quiet pool" isolated at one end of the terrace measures approximately 18-by-18 meters (60-by-60 ft). A spa tub accommodates 16 guests. Pool concierges make dining reservations and book outside tours. Pool captains hand out cold towels and complimentary fruit and water. The hotel's beach frontage comprises 200 meters (219 yards) of Cancún's powdery white sand.

The 511-square-meter (5,500-square-ft) Kayantá Spa, offering ingredients such as avocado, vanilla, papaya, and coffee inspired by pre-Columbia rituals, includes a couple's room and offers massage techniques from around the world, therapeutic baths, body wraps and scrubs, Vichy showers, facials, hair and nail care, and waxing. Treatments include Lol-Ha, the traditional Mayan flower bath for brides; Zac-Xib, a warrior ritual involving a body scrub and essential oils bath for men; and the Sacred Warm Stone Massage. Treatments are offered in air-conditioned rooms, in a thatched-roof pavilion overlooking the beach, and on private open-air terraces. Women's and men's sections offer private, open-air, eight-person spa tubs sided by plunge pools; saunas; steam rooms; Swiss showers; open-air showers; and relaxation lounges.

A complimentary fitness center contains weight machines, cardio machines, and free weights. An exercise studio offers complimentary aerobics classes such as Pilates, yoga, pool Pilates, and kickboxing for surcharges.

A full-service business center rents cellular telephones and includes private rooms containing Internet-connected computers (surcharges). The resort includes three lighted hardcourt tennis courts (surcharges). The 18-hole Hilton golf course is three km (1.75 miles) from the hotel, and the 18-hole Club de Golf Cancún is seven km (4.5 miles). Wireless Internet access is available throughout the resort (surcharge). Shoppers can browse boutiques, an art gallery, and a jewelry store. The hotel purifies its water.
