Nevis, West Indies - Not All Inclusive
Set on the west coast of this pristine island in a palm grove beside Pinney’s Beach is this magnificent property. The low-rise resort was built in 1991 with complete sports facilities, including a golf course and a great children’s program. It is designed in harmony with the landscape, and the spacious rooms offer wide patios or verandahs overlooking the beach, golf course or Mount Nevis. In 2003, the resort added a spa with an indigenous spa menu.

Occupying 350 acres on Nevis' west coast, the resort blends into its green grounds and the ecru-colored beach with low-rise buildings. Gardens screen buildings, the golf course climbs up a hillside, and the beach spreads far and wide leaving plenty of room for tranquil, uncrowded vacationing. Annually voted at or near the top in Travel + Leisure's annual readers' poll of Caribbean resorts, the Four Seasons attracts celebrities and others seeking rest and relaxation as well as Caribbean scenery.

The resort features a large spa complex secluded among gardens and trees, offering full views of 3,232-foot Nevis Peak rising in the background. Six treatment rooms are located in the spa's main building. Six others are located in tiny, yellow cottages clustered among the gardens and containing picture windows offering garden/mountain views. At the complex's center lies a wood relaxation deck under a peaked wood ceiling containing wood-paddle ceiling fans. The deck is furnished with thickly cushioned teak lounge chairs, offers panoramic mountain views, and is fronted by a long plunge pool. Nearby, a granite-lined, freeform spa accommodating 20 or more soakers lies next to a volcanic-stone wall and garden.

The spa complex includes a large, air-conditioned fitness center containing cardio machines with television sets, weight-training machines, and free weights and a beauty shop.  The spa's men's and women's sides include steam rooms. Spa cuisine such as chilled watermelon soup, soy-grilled chicken breast, baked fish, and juice drinks is served on an outdoor deck.

Spa options include hydrotherapy with Vichy showers, massage, body treatments, and facials. Half- and full-day sessions are available. Signature treatments include Four Seasons in One (back scrub, floral body wrap, massage medley, herbal scalp treatment); Gentleman's Celestial Shower (exfoliation, rain shower, massage); The Essence of Rain Massage (hydro massage, body exfoliation, water-jet treatment, moisturizing); and The Peak (facial cleansing and peel, line-lift serum, leg and foot massage). Other choices include Mango Sea Salt Glow, Nectar Body Polish, and Ginger Soak Body Wrap. Massage options include one for couples.

The resort features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The course rises to 400 feet elevation below 3,232-foot Nevis Peak, offering panoramic Caribbean Sea views as well as views of the neighboring island of St. Kitts. The course is lined with 72 bunkers. Water comes into play at six holes. A driving range, lessons, clubs, and shoes are each available for a fee.

Complimentary snorkeling gear, windsurfers, small sailboats, and kayaks are available on the beach. Other complimentary recreational facilities include croquet, bocce, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and a putting green. Fees are charged for play on four clay and six all-weather tennis courts (three lighted), with tennis instruction available. There is no fee for non motorized  recreational activities. (fees for motorized activities)

Location: The resort lies on Pinney's Beach, a 4-mile stretch of ecru-colored volcanic sand that is roughly 75 feet deep in front of the Four Seasons and strewn with tiny seashells and dotted with short palm trees. Because the resort lies on the western, or leeward, side of Nevis, the Caribbean Sea lapping the beach is flat and calm.
